Opshop have been forced to cancel seven dates on their nationwide tour over an injury to one of the band's members.
The Kiwi rockers have been performing with comedian Brendhan Lovegrove for their Hits & Giggles tour, and had already played shows in Auckland, Hamilton, Greymouth and Nelson.
But ina statement issued today, the band said it was "truly gutted" to cancel the remaining seven tour dates over an injury.
"Opshop is truly gutted to announce that due to a band member injury (they aren't getting any younger- these things happen) they have been forced to cancel the remaining dates on their Hits & Giggles tour," the statement said.
"Opshop apologises to all its fans and hopes to get the tour back on the road when they are fighting fit again."
In a subsequent email to nzherald.co.nz, a band spokesperson declined to name the band member that suffered the injury.
"Out of respect to the band member affected, Opshop has chosen not to identify him. It is a recurring injury which was treated with surgery a few years ago and has flared up again following the bands recent gigs."
The shows affected include October 4 in Christchurch, October 5 in Methven, October 11 in Wellington, October 12 in New Plymouth, October 19 in Leigh, October 20 in Waihi Beach and October 21 in Whitianga.
