A Day On The Green Kiwi summer edition will bring together Wellington reggae soul-heavyweights The Black Seeds, with frontman Barnaby Weir's other favourite project, folk-roots-rock collective Fly My Pretties, and the whimsical sounds of the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, for one big kitschy-Kiwi-shorts-and-jandals-get-out-your-chilly-bin knees-up.
They'll be heading to Mud House Winery and Cafe in Waipara, just out of Christchurch on Saturday, December 1, Alana Estate Winery in Martinborough on Saturday, December 8, and wrapping up at Villa Maria Estate Winery in Auckland on Saturday, December 16. The shows are all-ages, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster from Tuesday, July 17.
Having found solid local and international success with their 2009 album Get It Together, Andrew Spraggon and Sola Rosa are ready to release their enigmatically named fifth studio album Low And Behold, High And Beyond on August 10.
As always, Spraggon has a stellar cast of contributors involved including Spikey Tee, Ben White, Matt Short, Cherie Mathieson and L A Mitchell, helping him to colour his futuristic soul funk sounds with a little hip-hop, jazz, reggae and Latin.
Of course, to celebrate (and to make it feel like summer is a little closer) they're heading out on a national tour. It kicks off in Auckland on Friday August 10 with an album release party at The Studio on K Rd and continues on to Raglan, Ohakune, Havelock North, New Plymouth, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, finishing at World Bar in Queenstown on Saturday September 8.
American synth-powered pop singer songwriter Adam Young, better known as Owl City, returns to New Zealand for a show at the Powerstation on Friday November 16.
The Fireflies singer will be touring in support of his fourth album The Midsummer Station, due out next month.
Tickets on sale 9am, July 16 from ticketmaster.co.nz.
Rhythm and Vines fans will have a chance to warm up well before the main event with the R&V Soundcheck at Vector Arena on October 5.
Headlining the concert will be British electronic act Nero, dubstep big wig and producer Rusko, upcoming future pop producer Labrinth and New Zealand's own Home Brew. Tickets on sale today from Ticketmaster.
