Quick, call your dad, three classic rock acts are making their way to New Zealand next January for a three-date tour.
They won't be touching down in Auckland, but British-American rockers Foreigner, 70s female duo Heart, and the Californian behemoth with three lead singers Three Dog Night will be taking their lengthy back catalogues to visit Taupo Amphitheatre on January 24, Whitianga Waterways Arena on January 25, and Gibbston Valley Winery near Queenstown on January 31.
It's the first time in New Zealand for Foreigner, still led by original guitarist Mick Jones (pictured), so the tour is an unexpected treat for fans of legacy rock and easily matches past tour offerings of acts like this year's Lynyrd Skynyrd, Starship and 10CC.
Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame last year for the enduring appeal of their chart hits like Crazy on You, Magic Man, Barracuda, and Straight On.
The sisters, who are two of the world's best female rockers, have continued to release songs across the past 35 years, even finding themselves back in the Billboard top 10 with the 2012 release of Red Velvet Car, and were honoured to be asked to to perform Stairway to Heaven as the finale to the 2012 Kennedy Centre Honours tribute to Led Zeppelin.
