Tour news: Conor Oberst, Shihad

Conor Oberst will be here in March.

He hasn't performed in New Zealand for 10 years, but Conor Oberst plans to make up for his lengthy absence when he hits our shores in March.

Oberst, last here as REM's support act, will perform at Auckland's Powerstation on March 2.

He'll be playing in support of his latest album Upside Down Mountain, and folk act The Felice Brothers will play in support.

Tickets go on sale on December 8, with pre-sales beginning on December 3.

Meanwhile, Airbourne have pulled out of their upcoming seven-date summer tour with Shihad, and will be replaced by The Datsuns.

The tour, which begins on December 27 at Station Village in Lower Hutt, sees Shihad performing as headliners, with I Am Giant, Cairo Knife Fight and The Datsuns in support on a rock-heavy line-up.

After Lower Hutt, the tour reaches Coroglen Tavern on December 28, New Plymouth's Butlers Reef on December 29, Riwaka Hotel in Nelson on December 30, Christchurch's Cathedral Square on December 31, Brewers Field in Mt Maunganui on January 2, and Matakana on January 3.
