Two North American comedy stars are making their way to Auckland next year. Canadian Russell Peters is returning to New Zealand after his sold-out 2013 show, taking on Vector Arena on Tuesday, March 24 as part of his Almost Famous world tour, which promises brand new material - including plenty of material about cellphones, video cameras and screens for an up-close and intimate show, and two DJs.
Random facts: Peters recently appeared in Jon Favreau's hit indie flick Chef, and was named by Forbes as the third highest-earning comedian in the world in 2012. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, December 3 from Ticketmaster.
And American Bill Burr is coming to New Zealand for his first shows, performing in Auckland at the Town Hall on Tuesday, February 3, and at the Opera House in Wellington on Wednesday, February 4.
Burr's comedic style of uninformed logic first made him a regular on David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and Jimmy Fallon, but more recently he's received rave reviews for his recurring role as Kuby on the hit TV show Breaking Bad, as well as big-screen kudos for his roles in The Heat, Stand Up Guys, and Date Night, while next year he'll be co starring with Kevin Costner in the movie Black or White and working on an animated series for Netflix called F Is For Family, with Laura Dern and Justin Long. Tickets are on sale today at 9am.
