The reason for Black Sabbath's final tour run has been revealed, as details of their upcoming New Zealand shows are unveiled.
Fronted by Ozzy Osbourne, the veteran UK metal band are heading out on one final tour, called The End, that will reach Auckland's Vector Arena on April 28, and Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on April 30.
Guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted his cancer battle is why Sabbath are calling time on their careers.
"I can't actually do this anymore. My body won't take it much more," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"All the travelling involved in Sabbath tours increasingly takes its toll ... that's why we're going out on one last tour, to say our farewells. And then it very definitely is the end. We won't be doing it again."
