The San Francisco trio with one of the best names in rock music, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, are returning to New Zealand this November to celebrate their sixth album, Specter at the Feast. One of their strangest and most stately recordings to date, it draws influence from the score for Twin Peaks along with the more usual fuzzed-up, swaggering BRMC riffs. It was also written after the band lost long-time sound engineer Michael Been (father to bassist Robert Been) in 2010, and there are elements of catharsis in the songs too.
This will be their third visit to New Zealand, and along with some of the more introspective elements of the new album, fans can expect their usual pounding, strobe-lit, dry ice-heavy show alongside the more introspective and thoughtful elements of the new album.
They'll be playing at Bodega in Wellington on Tuesday, November 19 and at The Powerstation in Auckland on Wednesday, November 20.
