New Zealand's favourite band OpShop will ring in the New Year at Auckland's Aotea Centre as part of a global New Year's Eve celebration.
The free family event will feature dozens of performers, including musicians, dancers, DJs and krumpers.
First Night is an annual event, hosted by the Edge and sponsored by the Auckland City Council, which takes places in more than 130 cities around the world.
Opshop, who claimed the People's Choice Award at this year's Tuis, will be joined by local artists One Million Dollars, Annabel Fay, Mamaku Project, The Shades and Solaa.
The event is expected to attract more than 25,000 people, with entertainment beginning at 6.30pm.
Ngati Whatua will call in the New Year from 11.50pm.
