Three more Fast & Furious films have been confirmed

Vin Diesel has confirmed three more films will round out the Fast & Furious series, making it 10 in total.

Revheads won't be short of a Fast and the Furious fix over coming years, with the movie franchise set to continue until 2021.

Fast and the Furious veteran actor Vin Diesel has confirmed the release dates of the next three movies, with Fast 8, 9 and 10 set to drop in 2017, 2019 and 2021 respectively.

The star posted the news on his Instagram, with a photo reading "2 decades, 10 films, 1 saga".

Fast 8, to commence production in June, will be the first movie of the franchise without star Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in California in 2013.

Fans have mixed feelings about the franchise continuing without the star, who was 40 when he died.

"Are u serious? How can you make 3 more movies after Paul passed away?" said Myles Hoglund.

Others were keen to see more action, with the overall reaction positive.

Diesel said Fast 8 is intended to be the first film of a trilogy, with storylines arching over the following three movies.

Fast & Furious 7 was one of last year's biggest movies, raking in US$1.5 billion at the box office.
