LUPE FIASCO
The American rapper and his band made a big impression at the Big Day Out in 2009 providing the party set of the day in the Boiler Room. He might just do the same at Splore next Friday night.
Being mentored by hip-hop mogul Jay Z and adding his silky flow to Kanye West's Touch the Sky in 2005 helped him make a name for himself - and the release of debut album Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor made him a star. His third album, Lasers, is due out this year.
When: 8.45pm-10pm, Friday, main stage

ELECTRIC WIRE HUSTLE
Influential British DJ Gilles Peterson is a fan of this Wellington-based futuristic soul trio made up of Taay Ninh, Mara TK and Myele Manzanza. He picked up the surging and other-worldly soul track They Don't Want Me to play on his weekly radio show which is off EWH's self-titled debut album from last year.
TK has a voice akin to Marvin Gaye, with its reedy soulful lilt, and the music is a mix of smooth and stealth soul, loping funk, and psychedelic hip-hop with a singer-songwriter sensibility.
When: 12pm-1pm, Saturday, main stage

THE GASLAMP KILLER
If you feel like being sliced and diced with beats and whipped into a frenzy by a bloke with some demented energy then this Los Angeles DJ and producer is not to be missed. Put simply, Mr Killer is an animal behind the decks, playing everything from heavy trippy beats and lurching left-field hip-hop, through to maniacal break-neck mash ups and dark and jittery dub step. That might sound self-indulgent but check this guy out on YouTube and it's clear he's always got an ear and eye on entertaining the crowd.
When: 11.30pm-12.30am, Saturday, DJ stage
