This year's biggest albums and singles revealed

It's only been out for four weeks, but Adele's new record has been confirmed as New Zealand's biggest-selling album for 2015.

In the annual charts, released today by Recorded Music New Zealand, the London singer's third album 25 beat competition from fellow Brits Ed Sheeran (No. 2) and Sam Smith (No. 3) - despite only being released at the end of November.

Two New Zealand artists feature in the top 10: Six60 with their self-titled second album, and Sol3 Mio with On Another Note, their second album.

They also dominated the local album charts, with Six60 at No. 1, Sol3 Mio at No. 2 and again at No. 3 with their 2013 self-titled debut album.

Other acts in the local top 10 include Dennis Marsh, Gin Wigmore, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Quin Tikis, Stan Walker, Broods and Devilskin.

On the singles charts, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars was New Zealand's most popular single, closely followed by Major Laser's Lean on and Wiz Khalifa's See You Again.

Locally, the top-selling single was Savage's Freaks for a second year in a row. Six60 had four songs in the top 10, while Lorde had two.

The debut single by X Factor winner Beau Monga, Kings and Queens, came in at No. 10.

Inside Out by Avalanche City was the only local act to reach No. 1 on the Top 40 charts this year.
