Q Theatre: There's an all-star cast and crew behind Silo Theatre's latest provocative production, which takes audiences behind the walls of a New Zealand prison to meet the men who reside there and Miss Lucy who's determined to harness the power of Shakespeare and turn around the lives of those who are looking to improve their parole chances, kill some time or just kill. But when you disturb the natural order of things, you're in for a shock. Shortland Street's Jarod Rawiri and Carrie Green play a collection of characters in this dark comedy written by Miriama McDowell, Rob Mokaraka and Jason Te Kare.

ASB Waterfront Theatre: From Russia with love? Chekhov's final masterpiece has been shifted from turn-of-the-19th century-Russia to Hawke's Bay in the 1970s to highlight the ways in which reactions to social change and upheaval really don't change from place to place and time to time. It's a tragi-comedy told by sad clowns, self-made men and strong-willed women.
The Cherry Orchard, ASB Waterfront Theatre, until Tuesday, June 26
