The special effects makeup artist was filmed walking around the convention by Tested.com where he received a more positive reaction than online.
"Our latest project with Frank Ippolito lives at the intersection of creepy and amazing," Tested explained.
"For this year's Comic Con, Frank designed, sculpted, and painted a LEGO-inspired mask, made to look like a real-life version of a minifig."
After posing for photos with fellow Cosplay fans at the convention, Creepy Fig headed 'home' to the Lego area where he sat down with some fascinated kids, who surprisingly didn't run away screaming.
He told Tested: "Kind of like an alternate universe, [I imagined] what it would have been if in the multiverse (a hypothetical set of finite and infinite possible universes) there's another world that's all Lego-inspired people."
Discussing the creepy character's claws, he added: "They (Lego mini figures) have these weird cup finger things and this was the best way I could work out how to do it."
After the convention he added: "It was fun, a little foggy."
Here's how the internet reacted:
James Coyle joked: "From a distance it's not too bad. You still have time to run."
While another wrote: "It wasn't creepy... until I saw the hands."
One internet user asked: "Why aren't the kids terrified?!?!"
And the responses came: "They were paralysed by their absolute terror."
"Because they don't understand what fear is yet."
Meanwhile, this train track optical illusion has left some social media users very confused.
