KEY POINTS:
Naked Samoans Go Home (again)
Venue: Concert Chamber, Auckland Town Hall
Season ends: Dec 16 Tickets: $45 from Ticketek
Follow the hysterical giggles as the six mates that are the phenomenon of the Naked Samoans return to live theatre, which is where they started way back, before bro'Town, before Sione's Wedding. Here, the boys are back in "the island paradise" of Samoa, in a family band made up of orphaned brothers. They first performed the show in 2003 and it was hilarious. This time, they promise, it'll be even funnier.
Sweet Charity
Venue: SkyCity Theatre
Season ends: Dec 16
Jackie Clarke shines as New York tart with a heart Sweet Charity. The role is a huge challenge, demanding great singing and dancing, while carrying a show that is big on tunes, small on story. She delivers in all areas.
Georgia Duder and Stephen Butterworth give terrific support in the cast, and the jazz band brought together by musical director John Gibson is a standout.
Berlin
Venue: Silo Theatre
Season ends: Dec 16
The Silo's end-of-year cabaret features Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Andrew Laing and Lana Nesnas as three vocalists in the dark, debauched days of Berlin in the late 1920s-early 30s.
Features music by Kurt Weill.
