The Teletubbies had babies together and the internet cannot cope

The Twittersphere has erupted over news that the Teletubbies have had children.

The brightly-coloured, baby-talking kids show mascots have always seemed like children in their own right, so fans are understandably shocked by the news.

According to the official Teletubbies website, there are now eight new characters called "Tiddlytubbies."

The site says Tiddlytubbies "live with the Teletubbies in their own special part of the Home Dome" and like to hang out in their playroom. They range in color from violet to vibrant green and have a range of different personalities.

While there's no official mention of how the Tiddlytubbies actually came into being or whether the Teletubbies are their parents, the internet's going with it anyway.

The tweet that first pointed out the revelation has since been retweeted more than 36,000 times, and several other tweets about the babies have also gone viral as the internet struggles to wrap its collective mind around the...logistics.
