Taylor Swift has been slapped with a lawsuit by a songwriter who claims he first penned a now famous phrase from her hit Shake It Off.
US R&B singer/songwriter Jessie Braham said Swift's hit borrows heavily from a song he wrote in 2013 called Haters Gone Hate, according to a TMZ.com report.
Braham also known by his stage name Jesse Graham - claims he has copyright ownership of the phrases "haters gone hate" and "playas gone play", which appear more than 70 times in Swift's song.
His lyrics are: "Haters gone hate, players gon play. Watch out for the fakers, they'll fake you every day."
Swift's single, released a year later uses similar phrasing: "cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play/and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate."
