The Simpsons creator Matt Groening is preparing an animated cartoon series for Netflix, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The title, plot and characters of the new series remain a mystery, but it could run for two seasons and a total of 20 episodes, says the online news publication.
The Simpsons is one of the most famous and popular series in TV history. It is currently in its 27th season.
The adventures of the Simpson family began in 1989. The series has been confirmed to continue through its 28th season, during which it will have broadcast more than 600 episodes.
