The Gallaghers have traded blows since their spectacular backstage bust-up in Paris in 2009 but met in secret earlier this summer for the promotional photos to be taken ahead of the announcement, an Oasis spokesman told The Telegraph.
The black and white shots were taken by Emmett, who worked with Liam in 2019 for El Pais Icon magazine and with Noel for the cover of Esquire in 2015.
In the new photos, Liam sports a short haircut and a hooded black waxy jacket zipped to the top, while Noel wears his signature short trade jacket. Both are seen scowling down the lens, with hands in their jean pockets.
An unnamed source on set told The Sun: “The shoot was top secret and barely anyone knew about it.
“For their fans to see them together again will be an amazing sight. The atmosphere in the room was fizzing, it was electric”.
Staff were made to sign non-disclosure agreements when working on the summer shoot, according to The Sun.
Confirming the Oasis Live 25 tour, the Gallagher brothers said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised”.
Rumours had been swirling that Noel and Liam had reconciled for some time. Liam was forced to hit back at claims that Oasis were reuniting because they are “broke” following his brother Noel’s £20 million ($42.46m) divorce last year.
Speculation reached a fever pitch on Sunday after Liam teased the announcement at Reading Festival as he projected “27.08.24″ and “8am” on stage during his performance.
The dates are as follows: Principality Stadium, Cardiff, July 4 and 5; Heaton Park, Manchester, July 11, 12, 19, 20, 25 and 26; Wembley Stadium, Aug 2 and 3; Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, Aug 8 and 9; and Croke Park, Dublin, Aug 16 and 17.
