Orange is the New Black actress Ruby Rose is facing criticism from fans after posing for a picture with champion boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Rose posted the picture of her with a smiling Mayweather on Instagram, captioning the shot: "The champ!".

According to TMZ, she met Mayweather in Las Vegas while he was training for his next fight against Andre Berto.

However, Rose's fans were not happy about the meet-up, citing Mayweather's history with domestic violence.

The boxer has been charged multiple times with domestic violence and misdemeanour battery.

In 2010, he pleaded guilty to attacking his ex-girlfriend in front of their two children, serving two months of a three month sentence in 2012.

Rose, the breakout star from the latest season of Orange is the New Black, has tweeted her support of Mayweather before.
