KEY POINTS:
Nickelodeon is on the hunt for the country's hippest tweens with the Nick Rocks competition.
The talent quest is open to musicians aged 5 to 15 and the winners will go on to record a single in a professional studio and film a music video, which will be screened on Nick NZ.
The winning band will be chosen in September by Nickelodeon viewers, who will be able to vote for their favourite from three finalists.
Marketing manager Lauren Nola said the competition aimed to discover young talent in New Zealand and to give budding bandmates a taste of life as a rock star.
Entry forms are available from music stores and schools around the country, or you can sign up online at nicknz.co.nz
