Tickets are transferable for the new dates and seat allocations will stay the same, but tickets for July 4 will be valid for the July 21 show, and those for the July 5 show will be valid for July 22.
The show is billed as "An Evening of Sit Down with Billy Crystal hosted by Andrew Denton".
Denton, a veteran Australian television presenter and interviewer, will be prompting Crystal for stories about his life and career.
"I'm absolutely delighted to bring my new show to New Zealand. I have visited this beautiful country before but I am particularly excited to perform there for the very first time," Crystal said.
"The show will be spontaneous, funny and unpredictable. I tell stories, I perform, we show film clips."
The last time Crystal toured was with 700 Sundays across the USA and Australia. It was a triumph, resulting in sold-out shows, extra dates and him winning a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event.
An insightful stand-up comic turned television star, Crystal found fame as a movie funnyman with starring roles in blockbusters such as When Harry Met Sally alongside Meg Ryan, City Slickers and Analyze This with Robert de Niro. Also an award-winning author, Crystal's latest memoir, Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys? was an instant NY Times best seller.
Crystal has been seen by an audience of billions as the nine-time host of the Oscars, an achievement topped only by Hollywood veteran Bob Hope.
