It is the #1 most streamed song on the planet.
He is Irish, so if he wins, we'll get to hear that irresistible accent.
He is performing with Annie Lennox at the Grammys. Annie wouldn't perform with just anybody.
Artists such as Ed Sheeran and Kiesza acknowledged the song by covering it. He's got great hair game.
Carl Fletcher says: Sia for Chandelier
This was Sia's first US hit, unless you're counting Rhianna's Diamonds. Chandelier was inspired by her battle with alcoholism. It may be somewhat selfish of me, but this song, like her six studio albums are incredible. Maybe she should keep drinking?
She's shy, humble or maybe just plain anti-social and weird. She's not as flashy or wholesome as Taylor Swift - but let's not forget Tay Swi threw out fanmail. Into a rubbish bin. Sia wouldn't do that. In fact, good luck even finding an address to send her a letter. That's cool. Team Sia
Jase Hawkins says Meghan Trainor for All About That Bass
It was one of the biggest tracks of 2014, the year of the booty ... Her hit was refreshing for a lot of girls around the world because it was real and honest. Meghan was proud to say she had a booty. The song was loved by celebrities around the world, including Late Night host Jimmy Fallon who teamed up with Meghan and his band The Roots, using only kids' instruments.
What most people don't know is that she didn't receive a CENT for her song ... All the revenue the song made went to the record label. So let's give her this award so she can take it down to cash converters and go on a shopping spree
Vaughan Smith says Taylor Swift for Shake It Off
This hardly requires any explanation, so I'll bulletpoint it to keep it simple ...
• Taylor-Mutha-Funkin-Swift, yo.
• The Chinese Horoscope named 2014 the year of Taylor Swift, not the year of the Horse as previously planned thousands of years ago.
• This song would have made it to number 12 in the Triple J Top 100 (Australia's Australia Day Holy Grail of epic tunes) if not disqualified by a small committee of fun hating hipsters.
• Taylor had to trademark the lyrics "this sick beat" because it instantaneously become a pop culture reference.
• Two people called Jonas worked on the track. One on trumpet, one on saxophone. That's dual Jonases and not a Jonas brother in sight.
• Her middle name is Alison and look how well she's doing.
