It turns out there are some superstar cameos in The Force Awakens that fans didn't spot while watching the latest Star Wars movie.
It has been confirmed that in fact, Jedi masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda feature in the film.
Actor Ewan McGregor, who played a young Obi-Wan in the franchise's controversial prequel films, features in Rey's (Daisy Ridley) vision in the basement. According to an interview with J.J. Abrams, Entertainment Weekly revealed that McGregor lends his voice for the scene saying "Rey ... these are your first steps."
What's more, Yoda cameos in that scene as well. Frank Oz, who voiced Yoda in the original Star Wars movies recorded new audio for the scene.
It has also been revealed by Nerdist.com that the original Obi-Wan, Alec Guinnes, who passed away in 2000, can also be heard. His voice was edited by Bad Robot collaborator, Bryan Burk, to say "Rey" - taken from old audio of Guinnes saying the word "Afraid".
In another critical scene in the film, it turns out Bond actor Daniel Craig made an appearance as a Stormtrooper. The star kept quiet about his role while promoting the latest James Bond movie, Spectre, denying his involvement in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Writer Chris Lee of Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Daniel Craig lied to me", writing "Craig does make a cameo in Star Wars VII as a stormtrooper, turning up in one of the movie's most memorably nostalgic scenes."
Although Lee didn't go into detail about which specific scene Craig is in, there is speculation that it is the scene where Rey is trying to escape a room where she is being tortured.
It looks like a lot of fans may have to rewatch The Force Awakens to catch all of these hidden cameos.
The movie has already made an estimated NZ$768 million globally in its opening weekend.
