KEY POINTS:
Part-time student and mum Johanna Dodd, 22, is one aspiring model brave enough to face the judges at the Auckland audition for New Zealand's Next Top Model tomorrow.
Being a size 10 and 1.8m tall, Dodd reckons she has a pretty good chance of getting through the first stage, as long as the judges aren't set on choosing only "beanpoles".
If successful, she said she would steer clear of the catfights and hair-grabbing antics that have made the Tyra Banks-hosted American version of the show so popular.
"I actually find it a bit off-putting because the girls can be so bitchy, but I think I'll be able to ignore it if there are some catty girls.
"I'll be the quiet one under the radar who is nice to everyone," she says.
Although Dodd did some modelling when she was younger, it was "nothing like catwalks and high heels".
She picked her outfit to wow the judges more than a week out from the audition.
"I'm going to wear high-waisted shorts, a singlet and big heels to make my legs look long," she said.
"I thought about getting my makeup and hair done but then I thought it's better if they see me as I naturally am.
"I am nervous about it. The only thing I'm not sure about is the catwalk, you know, walking about in a bikini and heels like you see on the [American] show. It's a bit daunting."
