Five Kiwi bands are ready to battle it out for a chance to win MTV's Kickstart competition.
After a three-week nationwide search the Hot Grits, Midnight Youth, Happy Place, the Dukes, and rapper/singer Nytmare made the shortlist of up-and-coming bands who can win a $20,000 first prize and a chance to launch their musical career.
All five play at Studio on K' Rd tomorrow night. The judges, including Mikey Havoc from bFM and Damian Alexander from Blindspott, will pick a winner. That winner will then take on five Australian bands in a Trans-Tasman showdown - the Bledisloe Cup of music, if you will.
The overall winner will be announced on March 29.
