Producers behind the 2015 Terminator reboot are teaming up to develop a TV series in conjunction with the release of the films.
Plot details for the series are currently under wraps, but the show will reportedly follow an important storyline from the original 1984 movie and take a different direction at a critical point, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As the series and film reboots progress, the plotlines will begin to intersect.
Thor and X-Men: First Class scribes Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller will write and executive produce the show.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role in the new film and producers are currently eyeing several actresses for the Sarah Connor role, including Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, and Australian actress Margot Robbie.
