Taylor Swift tells Aussie media to back off while she vacations with crew

Taylor Swift is treating her 1989 world tour crew to a holiday on Hamilton Island, and she's told the Australian media to "take it down a notch".

"So stoked to be able to take my band and crew on a vacation at the end of a long and wonderful tour. For all their hard work this year, they really deserve it," Swift said on Instagram.

The 25-year-old pop star will perform an exclusive show on the island for a few lucky fans and it was rumoured she would also be celebrating her 26th birthday there.

Some media personalities have been trying to get onto the island but have been swiftly stopped by security.

On Tuesday Seven Network reporter Michelle Tapper tweeted she was "kicked off Hamilton Island due to Taylor Swift media ban".

Swift addressed the media on Instagram.

"Aussie press, I love your enthusiasm but my birthday isn't for 2 weeks and it'll be a quiet one this year. Let's take it down a notch:)," she said.

The Wildest Dreams singer seems to be having a good time. She posted an Instagram pic of herself getting cosy with a cockatoo.
