Taylor Swift has told rocker Ryan Adams she got her inspiration for 1989 from characters in John Hughes films.
Adams, who recently covered Swift's 1989 album in its entirety, interviewed her for GQ magazine.
In the video Adams looks very rock 'n' roll in sunglasses and a denim jacket while Swift is clad in all black.
Adams says he listens to The Smiths if he's struggling to write music while Swift says she watches John Hughes movies.
"1989 I wrote when I was single, I didn't have much intense drama going on. I was like living for my friends and I was living in New York and everything was exciting. So to access those emotions again I would put myself into other people's perspectives," Swift told Adams.
