Taylor Swift 'drowns in tears of joy' over Blake Lively's birthday Instagram to husband Ryan Reynolds

Taylor Swift may be single with a long list of ex-lovers but that doesn't mean she can't be delighted for her friends who are happily married.

The 26-year-old pop star got emotional after pal Blake Lively shared a sweet 40th birthday post for her husband Ryan Reynolds on Tuesday. The image shows the 29-year-old Gossip Girl star in a close embrace with her husband.

The Bad Blood hit maker wrote, "Thanks guys. Now I'm drowning in tears of joy."

"We fell in love at your restaurant in Boston. We stay in love at your restaurant in NY. Thank you for the BEST food and memories!"

Ryan held his wife of four years in one arm and used the other to hold a blown up image of the pair in a similar pose from years past. They were celebrating at the Japanese restaurant O Ya in New York City.

The couple, who now have two children together, were surrounded by colorful streamers while large 4-0 balloons loomed in the background.

Blake's lengthy caption continued, "Another happy birthday with @vancityreynolds. Hey, Reynolds, I like you a whole lot."

The actress replaced the 'O' in 'Whole' with a 'Heart' emoji.

Ryan replied by sharing another candid moment of the pair while celebrating his birthday on Sunday.

The cute shot showed Blake and Ryan smiling behind masks and party hats while seated at dinner.

His equally sweet caption read: 'Best. Birthday. Everrrrr. Courtesy of my wife, buddy, and international spy, @blakelively.'

Adding, 'With huge thanks to my favorite restaurant in NYC, @_o_ya_ -- and a special shout out to our children for not ruining everything like they planned.'
