On stage at the Auckland Town Hall Concert Chamber, Julia Deans, Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Jon Toogood and Tama Waipara are breathing new life into the music of Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel as part of Silo Theatre's season of Brel, a production focused on a man whose songs have previously been reimagined by the likes of Nina Simone, David Bowie and Beirut.
For Talking Heads, Deans and Ward-Lealand met on the stage where Brel is set to talk about the words and music of Jacques Brel.
