Academic and author Andrew Dubber is the driving force behind New Music Strategies, a music culture thinktank established with the aim to "make the most of music in response to transformative media technologies".
Mark Kneebone, director of the New Zealand chapter of St Jerome's Laneway Festival, studied under Dubber as part of AUT University's Communications programme, parlaying his studies into a career that takes in Kog Transmissions, Isaac Promotions and now Laneway.
For Talking Heads, the teacher and student talked new music strategies in the digital age, and kicked off the discussion with a look at digital music sales in 2012.
