Dame Helen Mirren received a standing ovation from fellow travellers and posed for photographs with her Oscar statuette after returning to London.
She spent about 20 minutes signing autographs in the baggage hall at London's Heathrow airport.
"I've just had the most incredible welcome to my country. It's very, very sweet," she said, after flying in from Los Angeles.
