Poor

Susan Boyle

. I doubt she dreamed this little dream...and talk about a not-so-perfect day.

Cheesy puns aside, let's talk turkey.

SuBo was reportedly reduced to tears this week after singer

on the show in LA, complete with a 100-piece children's choir, but the miserable old goat refused to give her permission to sing it.

According to TMZ

, Reed refused permission at the last minute (two hours before her planned taping) "because he is not a Boyle fan".

"Lou didn't want Susan to perform his song, and he's not a Susan fan," a source told New York Post gossip column

Page Six

.

Well, really!

The chart-topping singer had flow in especially to Los Angeles to perform, but as she made her way to the studio, producers broke the news to her. Which went down like a lead balloon. The snub reduced the Scottish songbird to tears.

According to a source who spoke to London's

Daily Mail

, "Susan is very sensitive and is genuinely upset. This has really knocked her confidence.

"She knew a lot of fans had flown in especially to watch her perform and felt she had let them down. She was heartbroken and had put so much effort in to this performance. It's a real shame."

"She was in a car on the way to the studio when she was told the news and was totally devastated. She's now at LAX Airport sobbing her heart out."

SuBo couldn't perform another song because there was not enough time for her backing singers to learn another track. So the whole shebang was canned.

Incidentally,

Perfect Day

is rumoured to be one of the tracks on Boyle's upcoming second album (released in November),

The Gift

. So why the beef with the track now?

Access Hollywood explains.

Reps for Reed

tell the website

that he was not the reason SuBo was unable to perform his song on the TV show.

Reed's reps say "the song was not cleared for the American market in time for the show," adding, "the song had been cleared for use in Susan's native United Kingdom, but not on stateside television".

Meanwhile, a rep for SuBo said: "Susan was due to perform a chosen song from her new album

on

in Los Angeles," the statement reads.

"It is with real disappointment and regret that she has been unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances relating to the song.

"Susan is very disappointed as she had been looking forward to it immensely. She is now on a plane heading back to London with a heavy heart.

"Susan really looks forward to being able to perform her new songs very soon."

Chin up, SuBo!

Snub or not, surely wrists should be slapped for not clearing the song in time for her performance. That's just pants.

Spears fights back

Britney Spears

has come out fighting to slam a sensational sexual harassment and abuse lawsuit filed against her by a former bodyguard.

The singer posted an official statement on her website responding to

Fernando Flores

' claims that she made "repeated unwanted sexual advances," towards him and abused her two sons.

Spears' statement

reads:

"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself.

"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding [accuser Fernando Flores]' accusations and have closed the case without any further action."

"Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."

A hearing for the case is scheduled for January.

Meanwhile, Spears' ex-husband,

Kevin Federline

, has waded in on the stink, trashing the former bodyguard's claims.

Federline's lawyer,

Mark Vincent Kaplan

told The Associated Press that his client is "satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives" and that "they are as baseless as they seem."

Sam Cooper

.

A snitch told the tabloid: "Lily said she found out from a scan she is having a boy. She is really excited and can't wait to give birth. She is always asking other mums about their pregnancies."

Fancy that. Comparing notes with other expectant mothers. Scandalous!

Meanwhile, as Allen's oven is on the bake, she's apparently developed a craving for...soup.

She told the

Daily Mirror

: "I could do with a great big cup of soup right now. Chicken, tomato - whatever I can get. That's all I've really been craving. I could have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm serious - I just can't get enough of it.

"The past few months have been a bit tough because I've been sick and stuff, but now everything's fine, because I've discovered soups are the cure to my morning sickness."

Allen's due to pop in February.

Posh and sex

There's something about Victoria and David Beckham's promo for their new fragrance Intimately Yours that gives me the willies.

The ad for their new stink, 'designed to capture the essence of David and Victoria Beckham's passion and the power of their relationship', sees the pair share a passionate moment in a lift. Ooh, saucy. Except it's really not. Or hot.

Watch the ad below. What do you think of it? Love or shove?

According to the pal, LiLo is feeling alone on this Earth (that'll be because she's not of this Earth) and thinks a baby will be the perfect companion.

Seeing what motherhood has done for her mate

, LiLo says she'll also have some of that.

"She needs to be around someone nearly 24 hours a day," the pal tells

"And I was like, 'Is that Lina?' It was so, so shocking. It was like looking at a ghost."
