Every little bit helps
New Zealand's Rescue Helicopters play a critical role in helping people around the country - so this Appeal Month we'd like to help them... and every little bit helps.
Money raised through the annual Westpac Chopper Appeal goes straight back to your local Rescue Helicopter service. This enables Rescue Helicopters to continue helping people in a range of emergency situations 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Operating nationwide, through 16 charitable trusts, many of the choppers act as flying intensive care units. From a defibrillator for a premature baby to full life support systems, the Rescue Choppers are equipped to deal with almost any situation. And for many, the sound of a Rescue Helicopter is the sound of a second chance.
The majority of funding for this unique service comes from the community, sponsors like Westpac and other fundraising activities. As a long-term supporter of Rescue Choppers, Westpac funds the marketing and administration costs of the Chopper Appeal so that funds raised can go back to the local Rescue Helicopters where they're needed most.
