LOVE LIES BLEEDING
When: 8.30pm, Sunday
Where: TV One
What: Past returns to haunt
The British thrillers we are being fed these days seem to have replaced solid storytelling with outlandish plot twists and grisly murder scenes. Love Lies Bleeding is no exception with its story of how things start to go horribly wrong for self-made millionaire Mark Terry (Martin Kemp, EastEnders) when an old school friend, Stuart Milburn (Hugo Speer), reappears in his life. Mind you, things aren't going that well for Terry anyway with his marriage to ex model Zara (Claire Goose) in trouble following the cot death of their baby son. She's resentful, and he suspects she's having an affair. But when Milburn, now a police detective, reacquaints himself with Terry, 30-year-old secrets come back to haunt him. Terry starts off trusting his old friend, but is soon caught up in a deadly game in which Milburn is out for revenge and tries to frame Terry for murder. Part two screens on Monday at 8.30pm.
