Wondering what to feast your eyeballs on this week? Here's a handy guide.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople (Neon)
There's a reason Hunt for the Wilderpeople became New Zealand's all-time highest grossing film when it hit cinemas two years ago – because it's solid gold. The hilarious and heart-warming story made a star of Julian Dennison, who plays Ricky Baker - a real bad egg who finds himself landed in the middle-of-nowhere with a grumpy foster father. Ricky and "Uncle Hec" (Sam Neill) find themselves at the centre of a national manhunt and forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive. Directed by Taika Waititi, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a wonderful cheeky story involving adventure and genuine camaraderie. The hunt begins on Neon from Saturday.
Who doesn't love the soft purr of Joanna Lumley's British accent? The former Absolutely Fabulous star is off on another exhilarating adventure, as she heads to Japan to explore shrines and other historic sites, soaking up the country's rich, ancient history along the way. The actress-come-activist takes a trip across the four main islands of Japan from north to south, meeting many locals and absorbing the culture along the way. This wonderful series is streaming now.
ER (TVNZ OnDemand)
With Love Island wrapping up, TVNZ OnDemand has you covered with the original Doctor Love: George Clooney. Streaming now, the first five seasons of the Emmy Award-winning series ER is available to stream online at your convenience so you can go back to where it all began. Running from 1994 to 2009, ER became one of television's most compelling series thanks to its potent mix of love, loss and life-saving heroics. Enjoy revisiting all your favourite emergency room doctors and nurses at Chicago's County General Hospital. And by golly, Dr. Douglas Ross (George Clooney) is just as charming as ever. It's time to get your swoon on.
Like Father (Netflix)

When a workaholic young executive is left at the altar, she ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with the last person she ever expected: her estranged and equally workaholic father. The two depart as strangers but over the course of a few hilarious adventures, a couple of umbrella-clad cocktails and a whole lot of soul-searching, the father-daughter duo return with a renewed appreciation for family and life. Starring Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer. Like Father is available on Netflix from tomorrow.
