Stranded Lady Gaga fans are hoping today will see a break in the icy weather that caused problems across much of the South Island yesterday.
Fans of the US superstar making the trek up to Auckland from the South Island were yesterday left devastated as airlines cancelled outbound flights from Christchurch airport.
Cantabrians Kerrie Clarke-Higgins and Hannah Cook were supposed to fly out of Christchurch yesterday afternoon but were left stranded when their flight was cancelled due to bad weather.
The pair have tickets to this evening's Lady Gaga show and were last night still hopeful they would make it to the concert.
Ms Clarke-Higgins said after about an hour of negotiations with JetStar they opted to be put on stand-by for today's flights.
