Daisy Ridley has all but confirmed fans will find out who her parents really are when The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas later this year.
In The Last Jedi, Ridley's character Rey was told by Kylo Ren her parents were "filthy junk traders" who are buried in an unmarked grave after selling her for drinking money, news.com.au reports.
This revelation disappointed many fans, who had been led to believe Rey — like Luke Skywalker before her — would carry on one of the main Star Wars lineages by being either a Skywalker, Kenobi, Solo or Palpatine.
It was one of the main points of contention dissatisfied viewers had for Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, whose take on the Star Wars franchise divided audiences.
Johnson has previously defended the Rey reveal, telling EW it wasn't about "wish fulfilment" and handing "her a place in this story on a silver platter".
