A major original Star Wars character could be about to meet his maker, if rumours about JJ Abrams' upcoming movie prove true.

Reliable blog Making Star Wars is quoting a "most trusted" extra on set as saying that Harrison Ford's iconic character Han Solo will be killed off by villain Kylo Wren (Adam Driver) in seventh instalment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The dramatic incident will reportedly take place on "the ramparts of The Evil Castle" and, if it happens, will be in line with the popular fan story about Ford begging filmmakers to kill his character off during the original series (unfortunately for Ford, he was wanted for the love story with Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia so there was no escaping George Lucas's plans).
Finn, Rey, Chewbacca and BB-8 are listed as present at the death scene, with Chewbacca "letting out a barrage of angry roars and laser blasts".
