She was tipped to be a contender for TVNZ's new-look Breakfast show in the new year but her bosses at The Radio Network had other plans.
Effervescent Stacey Morrison will now be the new face of breakfast radio on Auckland's Classic Hits. She starts November 22.
Morrison moves from the Flava station at TRN to the more mainstream Classic Hits. She will be joined by Jason Reeves, who moves from the Classic Hits afternoon show, and Justin Brown who is returning to the station after being dumped from it two years ago.
That's the thing with the media industry in New Zealand. Grudges are very rarely held for long. Paul Holmes and Ali Mau made a mad flap leaving TVNZ and bragging about their new employer Prime, but look how long that lasted.
TVNZ turned a blind eye and, after a period of appropriate absence, rehired them.
Big love
Peace (and song) has broken out in Auckland local government. Well, for the time being anyway. The fact that all the 20 councillors and the singing mayor are getting on so swimmingly is starting to make some people nervous.
In the coming weeks they're getting on a bus for some kind of magical mystery tour of the region and supposedly going on a team building retreat. Singing Kumbaya around the camp fire is bound to be on Len Brown's to-do list.
By all accounts, Deputy Mayor Penny Hulse is doing a great job of pulling everyone together and championing more resources for the councillors.
Dubbed "Penny One" (Rodney Councillor Penny Webster is "Penny Two"), Hulse has been a soothing voice, something she probably picked up after being deputy mayor for the hyperactive Bob Harvey.
It will be interesting to see if this municipal group hug can last until Christmas - before the claws come out. Will Councillor Christine Fletcher be first to break down?
Hillary's faves: paua fritters and pav
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have slipped up and congratulated Tonga on celebrating 40 years of independence when she meant Fiji, but the most powerful woman in the world made no blunder at the intimate BBQ John Key hosted for 12 guests at Premier House on Thursday night.
"She loved it," the host told Spy. "She was very relaxed and she especially loved the paua fritters and the pav."
Another bubs for Agustina
Marc Ellis and his wife Agustina Mon are expecting their second baby in March.
Sources told Spy the pregnancy "came as a total surprise but they are very excited by it." Meanwhile, Matthew Ridge and Carly Binding are awaiting the arrival of their son, due in the next few days.
Can we expect both dads to capitalise on the situation? Will Marc and Matthew's Rocky Road to Parenting be the next chapter in their television adventure series?
