SPY: TVNZ stars entertain at company party

When it comes to the end-of-year company Christmas party, most employees have to settle for musical entertainment courtesy of the CD player or tracks on someone's iPod. But not TVNZ.

The television network hosted a Christmas party for the news and current affairs team on Saturday night with a very special musical act.

, the new boy band debuted at the Gables Speight's Ale House in Herne Bay in front of an enthusiastic crowd. They performed the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic

Starring Corin Dann (business reporter) on vocals, Greg Boyed (

presenter) on lead guitar, Glen Larmer (TVNZ7 news presenter) on drums and Nic "Rolly" Roland (TVNZ7 studio technician) on bass guitar, the boys brought the house down.

Even TV3 reporter Amanda Gillies, who'd invaded the competition's festivities to see her fiancé (Boyed) hit the stage, can be seen enjoying the music and taking snaps. Her ever-present pony tail bouncing up and down.

Wendy Petrie hit the mosh pit in the front row, while a kohl-rimmed Nadine Chalmers-Ross and

Breakfast

producer Sarah Bristow danced to the music enthusiastically.

Of course, Dann and co aren't the only closet rock and roll stars to hail from TVNZ. Former

One News

presenter John Hawkesby evidently put his $5.2 million payout to good use by channelling Bob Dylan and playing gigs.

He performed at a Waiheke pub earlier this year and described it as "hallucinating without taking drugs."
