New Year's Eve was a special night for Auckland It girl Storm Bellamy.
She was celebrating the occasion in Clermont-Ferrand in France and announced on Facebook she was in a relationship with South African-born rugby star Scott Spedding, who plays for Clermont and the French national side. Spedding is the complete package: he was a star player in last year's Rugby World Cup and the hunky 29-year-old fullback is happy to show his emotional side. When picked to represent France at test level in 2014, he cried on camera. His softer side was on display again last January when he was chosen for the France 31-man squad for the Six Nations Championship. A year later he has found love with one of Spy's most popular ladies.
Just over a month ago, at the end of November, Spy was toasting the year with the recently single Bellamy at the Moet & Chandon party.
"Comment avez-vous rencontre"? we asked Bellamy, who is in Europe for the winter. "It's been a good start to the new year indeed. I don't have too much to tell you as it is pretty new, but just that I'm happy we met through a mutual friend, it's beautiful here and I'm enjoying the European winter."
The picture the couple posted attests to that. Australian-born Storm, 24, is famous for being the other half of the Tea Sisters, who market the specialist tea brand Storm and India. The pair are looking to expand this year - maybe to France? Meanwhile, Bellamy's ex and rumoured Bachelor contender, tennis coach Martin Colenbrander looked content, watching the women's tennis at the ASB Classic this week.
