Is there a new bad boy coming to Shortland Street?
Producers would not confirm, but they did tell us handsome actor Richard Lambeth, who appeared in The Lovely Bones and Step Dave, is to appear on our screens soon as Patrick, a sponsorship manager, who charms everyone he meets, but has a dark side.
Lambeth, 41, told Spy he has been living the dream since Step Dave.
"I've been living between Auckland and Ahipara in Northland, learning to surf and writing. I was actually on Shortland Street in 2008, playing a journalist. "It was a lot of fun this time. It's a real family vibe behind the scenes. Everybody works incredibly hard, though."
He wasn't giving much away about his bad-boy character: "It's always interesting and fun playing characters with an edge. I don't want to say anything more, although my favourite character on the show in the past was Leonard Dobbs."
