Rihanna, Lena Dunham and Jessica Alba are just some of the A-listers throwing their support behind New Zealand fashion label Karen Walker this week, as the designer celebrates her 19th consecutive showing at New York Fashion Week.

Girls star Lena Dunham was snapped in LA sporting KW threads, while a rep for the designer confirmed Jaime King, Rihanna and Jessica Alba have all been spotted wearing Walker designs this week.

Today, she will launch her new eyewear collection 'Karen Walker Poolside' to fashion editors and bloggers, in partnership with major e-tailer Shopbop.com.

It's been a busy week for the designer of NZ's most famous exported fashion label. Not only is she showing her collections, the 45-year-old has also taken over Instagram for the Herald's Viva.

And if that's not enough, last weekend Hollywood royalty Drew Barrymore almost curtsied for Walker at an event in Brooklyn. Walker's husband Mikhail Gherman captured the priceless moment on Instagram.

Gherman captioned it: "Drew: Oh my God it's really you."

Spy thinks Barrymore, looks like she is saying: "OMG I am such a fan of your work," which would be quite the compliment from the stylish Barrymore, who wore a custom made Chanel wedding gown and is married to Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman.

Walker's collection was shown for Spring/Summer 16 for the Northern Hemisphere and will be available in NZ in February 2016 as Autumn/Winter 16. Titled Star City the collection is an exploration of folk-meets-utility-meets-glam, inspired by life in the Soviet Union's secret training base Zvezdny Gorodok, aka Star City. The show's guests included fashion commentators such as Tim Blanks and long-time Karen Walker fans, including Orange is The New Black actress Yael Stone and blogger Leandra Medine of website The Man Repeller. The most famous fashion dog in the world @Toastmeetsworld (who wears KW sunglasses like a muse) was also backstage.
