Spy: Breakfast with Hilary ... and Paul?

Will Paul Henry jump ship to join Hilary if she scores a role on TVNZ's Breakfast show?

It's the big question on everyone's lips: if Hilary Barry gets her own breakfast show at TVNZ, will Paul Henry jump ship and go with her?

Barry and Henry made a great team on the Paul Henry Show, which premiered in April last year and swiftly ate into Breakfast's ratings.

So could they again team up at TVNZ? Spy reckons it would be a big blow to MediaWorks if TVNZ could steal two of its stars, but would the controversial Henry be welcome back on the Breakfast couch?

Spy hears after a great first year with his radio-with-pictures show he's looking for the next challenge.

The pair weren't talking to Spy this week, and if current Breakfast co-hosts Rawdon Christie and Ali Pugh are worried about Barry's likely arrival they also weren't telling us.

Christie politely declined to comment and Pugh - who is on maternity leave - didn't respond. But we understand the new mum is keen to stay in Christchurch with her family
and return to reporting.

No doubt all will be revealed. Barry, the hardest-working woman in TV, has two weeks left at 3, followed by a hard-earned break before starting her new job.

Meanwhile, she takes on a fronting job with a difference next week. On Thursday she is MC at the BeeBio Monaco Formula 1 Party at Parnell's swanky Cibo restaurant.

BeeBio, a premium New Zealand skincare brand, has aligned itself with the celebration of Aston Martin's re-entering the Formula 1 circuit. The party will feature a fashion show from one of our favourite Kiwi designers Kay Goss, who made headlines in Spy last year by dressing Maria Tutaia in lingerie for a racy photo shoot. The designer's celebrity clients include Lady Gaga.
