Celebrity blonde Aja Rock and her husband David Southcombe have welcomed a new addition to their family: a baby boy named Hendrix - presumably in a tribute to Jimi.
There's no denying it's a very rock star name. It probably wouldn't hold the little tyke in good stead if he grew up to be, say, a tax accountant or a Catholic priest, for that matter. Father Hendrix doesn't exactly have the right pious ring to it.
Mind you, with a name like Aja, I guess the celebrity mum was never going to choose an ordinary moniker. The name "Rachel", for example, would be far too dull in the land of celebrity where offspring compete for attention with names like Apple, Suri and Shiloh.
Another celebrity child, albeit one considerably older, arrived into town this week. Renee Stewart, 18, and her mother Rachel Hunter will be guests of honour today at The Warehouse's new fashion collection launch.
Hunter has two collaborative clothing collections with the bargain basement store and today she will be unveiling her Autumn range.
But what we all really want to know is who could be the next Mr Rachel Hunter? It's no secret Our Rach has had somewhat of a disastrous love life, including that hockey-player drip Jarret Stoll who ditched her merely weeks before their wedding date. But he was a mere child. Quite what she saw in him, I have no idea. He didn't know what a good thing he had.
Hunter certainly deserves a little happiness. She has recently spent eight weeks in bed following surgery on her back and was previously admitted to a New York hospital for four days for a viral infection that inflamed her heart.
The downtime probably gave her a chance to take stock of all the good things in her life, of which there are many.
Speaking of bad health, former rugby star Jonah Lomu has a big year ahead of him. For starters, he's planning his wedding to fiancée Nadene. Then there's dad-time with his two little boys Brayley and Dhyreille. Plus, his own father has been unwell. Then there's the Rugby World Cup to promote. Lomu will be an ambassador for the sporting event, alongside John Kirwan, Sean Fitzpatrick, Michael Jones and Andrew Mehrtens.
Lately, he has been busy building his profile in the UK. He appeared earlier this month on a British reality television show called Famous and Fearless, but I hate to say, he BOMBED!
I happened to be in London at the time and caught the show and was very disappointed to see Our Jonah come last out of the celebrity men who participated. It wasn't a good look considering it was a sports show. And, worse, he was beaten by pretty-boy socialite Sam Branson whose claim-to-fame is only that he is the son of Sir Richard. Lomu put his bad performance down to sickness, but I'm sure the celebrity fee he received was rather healthy.
Can Lomu make a celebrity comeback? I hope so. Will Rachel ever find love? I know so. Will Aja ever pick a normal name for any future sprogs? I doubt it.
