Speculation next Block NZ could be held in Northcote

There is speculation the next season of The Block NZ will be filmed in the Auckland suburb of Northcote.

Property records show the 926sq m property at 58 Potter Ave sold on July 30 for $1.9 million.

QV documents list the owner as Ying Dong, but Fairfax are reporting the site has been bought by Eyeworks New Zealand Limited, otherwise known as Warner Brothers NZ, which produces the home renovation reality show.

The property was last sold in August last year for $1.5 million.

A Mediaworks spokesman said they had "no comment on these rumours".

In this year's season of The Block NZ, Wellington flatmates Sam Cable and Emmett Vallender sold their three-bedroom Meadowbank townhouse for $1.61 million with a record profit of $380,000.

It was purchased by an Auckland property investor couple in their 40s. The same couple bought house 3, which was created by Emma Diamond and Courtney MacKay, for $1.510m.

Cable and Vallender got to keep the profit from their house sale, plus a $100,000 prize for coming first, taking their total winnings to $480,000.
