Child soprano Jessie Hillel has hit all the right notes with an army of fans in India.
Newspapers including the Times of India and The Hindu have followed the 11-year-old's TV talent quest exploits in New Zealand, and fans and family in India will today be praying she wins the New Zealand's Got Talent competition.
Jessie's IT worker parents relocated to Wellington from Kottayam in 1996 after falling for the relaxed Kiwi lifestyle.
The young singer is delighted she has such a big following overseas and reckons the power of prayer could help her seal the contest. "It's really cool that people in other countries are watching," she says.
Jessie is more excited than nervous about tonight's big showdown, she says.
