Actress Sofia Vergara put her needlework to the test after one of her Madame Tussauds waxwork figures suffered a wardrobe malfunction minutes before its unveiling.
The Modern Family beauty was on hand at the New York wax museum to show off two new mannequins baring her likeness, but one figure, sporting a glittering silver gown similar to the one the Colombian wore to the MET Ball earlier this year, managed to bust out of its dress - causing panic among the event's organisers.
Calm and collected, Vergara decided to do something about the problem herself and found a needle and thread to sew up the tear, allowing the big reveal to take place after an hour's delay, reports the New York Daily News.
Museum officials blamed the hold-up on a "technical issue", but it appears the wardrobe malfunction was just art imitating life - Vergara had suffered a similar fashion nightmare at last year's Emmy Awards after her Zuhair Murad gown split and exposed part of her backside.
