KEY POINTS:
What better way to celebrate the warmer weather than with a good old-fashioned street festival with live music, street performers and lots of sizzling seafood?
The Auckland Seafood Festival has something for everyone this weekend, from a free family area to a VIP lounge.
Families can head down to the harbourside venue and enjoy entertainment from Ben Lummis, Gahu and the Funky Monkeys, while sampling an array of seafood.
Those wanting a more lively experience can buy tickets to the Jellicoe St party. Artists performing at the street festival include One Million Dollars, Nesian Mystik and Union.
Tickets are $25 on the gate and children under 13 get in free when accompanied by an adult.
Serious seafood aficionados will want to sign up for the VIP lounge, where tickets holders are treated to platters of seafood, wine, Monteiths beer and entertainment from Debbie Harwood, Tom Sharplin and The Mermaids. Tickets are $75, and allow ticket holders access to the street party.
Held on the streets surrounding the Auckland Fish Market, the festival takes place this weekend, 11am to 6pm.
